FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

 

Summary: As the person representing the dining experience at MOSU we are looking for positive individuals who enjoy interacting with guests, are able to multitask, and are attentive. The server’s responsibilities will be to serve guests, explain and answer any questions related to our special cooking equipment and to be friendly, courteous and efficient.

 

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Help team in Opening/Closing procedures.
  2. Prepare restaurant tables with special attention to sanitation and order.
  3. Attend to guests upon entrance/being seated and keep a constant watch on your section. Be attentive, refill glasses, answer questions and assist guests if they need it.
  4. Present restaurant menus and guide guests through menu, use of cooking equipment and help select food/beverages.
  5. Review orders with guests and taking note of any dietary restrictions or allergies.
  6. Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff.
  7. Deal with complaints or problems with a positive attitude.
  8. Issue bills and accept payment.

 

Qualifications:

  1. 2-3 years of proven restaurant serving experience (References required).
  2. Hands-on experience in cashier duties, handle money accurately and operate POS systems.
  3. Attention to cleanliness and safety.
  4. Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude.
  5. Responsible, trustworthy and shows accountability.
  6. High school diploma is a plus but not required.
  7. Ability to lift 30 pounds and to stand for 8 hours.
  8. Ability to support and participate in a team-oriented environment.
  9. Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised.

 

Salary: $25.00 – $45.00 per hour
