Summary: We are looking for a professional, high-energy Barback/Bartender with excellent communication skills and creativity. MOSU is looking for a self-starter that will take responsibility for the bar area and work with the Manager to run an efficient, and profitable bar.
To succeed as a Barback/Bartender, you should have be engaging, friendly, efficient, observant, knowledgeable, and personable.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Welcoming customers, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.
- Making drink orders for the bar guests, working with dining room servers to deliver drinks in timely fashion.
- Be familiar with drink/food menus and informing customers about new beverages and specials.
- Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.
- Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
- Restock bar as needed for service.
- Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.
- Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
- Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
Qualifications:
- 2-4 years of previous experience in a bartender/barback position
- Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol
- Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Hands-on experience in cashier duties, handle money accurately and operate POS systems.
- Attention to cleanliness and safety.
- Excellent people skills with a friendly attitude.
- Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques
- Additional education, training, certificates, or experience may be required
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, etc. for extended periods, and lift up to 50 lbs (ie. Beer Kegs)
- Responsible, trustworthy and shows accountability.
- High school diploma is a plus but not required.
- Ability to support and participate in a team-oriented environment.
- Able to perform high-quality work while unsupervised.
Salary: $25.00 – $40.00 per hour
